Testimonial

“Working at [Project EDEN] was more than just gardening. [Y]ou would have to experience what I have in order to understand exactly what I mean by that. The first day I planted my first plant and got my hands dirty was also the start of something new. Every day I came to work we checked on the plants excited to see the growth in them, while our supervisor started noticing the growth in us.  Every day in the garden we planted and also talked, we prayed, and soon working in the garden became a peaceful get away from real life issues. [I]n the beginning we needed gloves in the garden and was (sic) scared to touch the dirt now we embrace the dirt, no gloves at all. As our plants grew we grew mentally and physically and spiritually with the support of our supervisor Rev. Rials. [With] the produce that we grew in the garden, we learned to cook healthy meals. Breakfast included fried potatoes basil, and also turkey sausages with sage [and] smoothies with mint and Swiss chard from our garden.”
